Testing 3 to find the best!

I was told that once frozen the BOSS 362 did not perform as well as the competition.

So, we decided to try it and see what happened. In my opinion, it was the complete opposite - The BOSS performed the best of our three sampled caulks.

We froze three different adhesives overnight, let them thaw out and then tried each sample all under the same conditions.

The BOSS 362 product performed way better in my opinion than the other two. Not only did it spread easy, but it also spread thicker and looked a brighter white. It was by far the best.

Safeflex expansion joints are molded and vulcanized in hydraulic presses. This high pressure process produces a smooth finished product with outstanding adhesion between the cover, reinforcement and tube.

Most of our competitors still use Natural Rubber impregnated Nylon tire cord between sulfur cured, EPDM covers and tubes. This construction becomes brittle with age at higher temperatures, so we changed from Nylon to Kevlar®, as Kevlar® has a higher modulus that minimizes swell and elongation, and outstanding temperature tolerance up to 250°F (121°C).

• All Safeflex Expansion Joints are factory tested to 150% of rated pressure before shipment.

• Kevlar® high temperature tolerance is outstanding.

• Peroxide cured EPDM covers and tubes with Kevlar reinforce ment are superior to sulfur cured EPDM, Natural Rubber, and Neoprene Nylon reinforced bodies at all temperatures.

• Kevlar® reinforcement wrapped around solid steel rings cannot pull through the flanges.

• Sealing pressure is higher using external stops as rotation points.

Quitting a good job in a bad economy & starting a new business might not have been the best idea - But 2 1/2 years later, it’s looking like a pretty good idea.

Very few people helped or even offered to help us when we needed it most and that makes it feel like an even bigger accomplishment. And now that it’s going very well and we’re doing great, it’s easier to look back & say “WOW” as we see what has transpired. But those that did help, made the difference for us. Whether it was advice, giving us a meeting, recommending us to others or whatever time they took to offer help or support it made a difference.

One Great Example That Stands Out:
When we started the new company, without any prompting Jeffrey Gitomer - who I had worked closely with in the past - offered to make a video for us to promote our company. He didn’t ask for any input or anything in return, he just asked for a copy of our logo…… What he did for us was special and helped to launch us off the ground. I don’t know if it helped us get any business or pick up any new lines - but what I do know is it made us feel good and it made us feel like we did the right thing. And, at that time - our lowest point - we needed some confidence and encouragement and his video gave us that!

To the others that believed in us and took a chance on our company - we will forever be appreciative. We can’t thank them enough. They were awesome!

Because we know how important it was for us, we continue to help others even when it doesn’t benefit us. We think that what goes around comes around and we think even though it may not create sales it creates good business.

Good sign for future....

I just finished presenting Goss Torches & the Lucas-Milhaupt brazing rings. Now the class is taking their brazing test then the brazing takes place. They need to pass test and complete six brazed copper joints to get their certification. Course put on at PCC and done through ORACCA.

Had someone tell us yesterday we should re-post this video & I forgot how much I liked it....  When we started the company Jeffrey Gitomer who I had worked with in the past offered to do a video for us & this is the result.... WOW - it still makes me smile.

Here is what can happen.... if you don't use the rings.... 

We recently presented the Lucas-Milhaupt brazing rings at a Community College brazing course and they were a HUGE hit! The students found them a lot easier to use. Faster, easier & nice looking joints. They are so much faster you don’t have to worry about heating up the copper too long. Check out the photo above - this is what happens when you heat copper too long. There is a hole in the elbow about the size of a dime. It’s pretty safe to guess this joint wont be holding properly!
